On The Beat Toronto singer MELISSA UNGAR has just released her first CD, Checkered Past. It comprises covers of, predominantly, some '60s and '70s era rock classics, ranging from the BEATLES ("Bluebird") to ELVIS COSTELLO ("Accidents Will Happen") and five ELTON JOHN songs. Ungar has a pleasantly strong and soulful voice, and it's worth noting that she'll donate a portion of sales proceeds to VOICEPRINT, and excellent organization that assists the visually-impaired. |
